The Ochelli Effect 7-13-2018 Artisan Loaf Hour 1
It’s Friday the Thirteenth 2018, and The Ochelli Effect celebrates the second occurrence of the Friday and 13 combinations in 2018 by talking with a fascinating fellow known as Artisan Loaf.
In the late-19th century, a New Yorker named Captain William Fowler (1827-1897) sought to remove the enduring stigma surrounding the number 13—and particularly the unwritten rule about not having 13 guests at a dinner table—by founding an exclusive society called the Thirteen Club.
The group regularly dined on the 13th day of the month in room 13 of the Knickerbocker Cottage, a famous watering hole Fowler owned. Before sitting down for a 13-course dinner, members would pass beneath a ladder and a banner reading “Morituri te Salutamus,” Latin for “Those of us who are about to die salute you.”
Friday, 13 October 1307, the date Philip IV of France arrested hundreds of the Knights Templar. In 2018 Artisan Loaf sits down with Chuck to discuss the strange world of Elon Musk, and the resulting aftershock that Bexit is about to unleash. The Lucky 13 from the boy’s soccer team that Musk appeared to be attempting to help was also covered in the conversation.
