In this episode of Truth Warrior, I cover what I feel is some of the most important and relevant information on how to navigate todays turbulent times, and life’s challenges in general. I make the case that the issue of self esteem, or lack thereof, is actually an issue of life and death. I cite the work of Nathaniel Branden, Bruce Lee & Michael Tsarion and share my own experience. Here is an excerpt:
Your life, and your overall success and happiness DEPEND on you being RIGHT and CORRECT in your decisions and beliefs.
To conduct your life with a worldview that says there is no such thing as right or wrong, it’s all just “shades of grey” or that it’s all just relative, is to condemn yourself to a life of failure and defeat. This nonsensical idea is based entirely on an illusory view of yourself and the world, and is destructive to your overall self evaluation-which is devastating to your ability to survive, thrive, and succeed.
You have to choose constantly and make decisions CONSTANTLY as to what to do, what to think and believe, what you want and what you don’t want. You even have to CHOOSE TO THINK. Even your estimation of the validity of this Facebook post is evidence of your ability to CHOOSE moment by moment what you believe or don’t believe.
You have a basic survival need to be in the RIGHT. Being wrong, results in death. Death of happiness, death of potential, death of all motivation and zest for life, death of the mind, death of the body.
This does not mean you have to be omniscient and infallible. Clearly impossible. What it means is that you are capable of being right in your METHOD of making your choices and decisions in life. It means you require the security of knowing that the method, foundation and the mental processes which give rise to your decisions and choices, are RIGHT & RELIABLE. Being wrong and learning from it is an invaluable opportunity for growth. Being wrong and saying wrong doesn’t exist, leads to failure, self hate, death and destruction.
This is why the truth is always right. Anything else is just a comfortable lie that better liars than you depend on you believing.
I wish you all the best in your endeavour to be great.
